A unique land

The great vocation for viticulture and a unique microclimate, make the territory of Conegliano Valdobbiadene one of the most famous lands in the province of Treviso.

The area of Conegliano Valdobbiadene extends over a hilly area located 50km from Venice and 100km from the Dolomites. Its position between the sea and the Pre-Alps ensures a ventilated climate that allows a perfect drying of the grapes after the winter rains, and a correct exposure of the sun. The altitude varies between 100 and 500 m, ensuring an adequate temperature range ensuring that the best organoleptic characteristics are developed.

Precisely in this territory the Glera vine has found its ideal environment: it loves water but fears stagnation, and the steep hilly slope allows excellent drainage of the soil. The DOCG area covers 15 municipalities, two of these give it the name of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, the first capital of culture and the other productive heart.

Soil characteristics

The soils of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene are deep, consisting of conglomerates of marine origin and composed of marl and sandstone, less deep and more filtering. This composition determines a coexistence of many different types of soil but also a different structure of the hills, influencing the development of the Glera vine and therefore guaranteeing different organoleptic characteristics to the Prosecco that derives from it.

The combination of climate, sun exposure, terrain and slope make each microzone different: among the most famous we remember the Rive and the Cartizze.

The method

The sparkling wine in the territory of Conegliano Valdobbiadene originated from the experiments of Antonio Carpené, then perfected in the Oenological School of Conegliano. It represents an evolution of the Martinotti method, or also called Charmat method, aimed at enhancing the aromas that naturally characterize Prosecco Superiore, typical and deriving exclusively from this territory.

Ours is a heroic viticulture: steep and steep hilly chains that have imposed on the families of winemakers a “handmade“ viticulture, made of effort and constancy. It is for this reason that our Prosecco is an expression of manual skill and attention to detail, from the vineyard to bottling.
